Deputies in Spring Valley say a routine warrant check turned into a full-blown drug bust, ending with a 64-year-old man in handcuffs and roughly 138 grams of meth off the street.

According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, deputies from the Rancho San Diego Station approached the man Friday morning as he sat in a vehicle in the 900 block of Gillespie Drive. After confirming he had an active arrest warrant, they detained him and searched the vehicle.

Inside, deputies reported finding about 138 grams of meth packaged in multiple bags, along with a digital scale and hundreds of empty baggies. The suspect was identified as Bradley White, 64, and the sheriff’s office later released details of the stop, according to 10News.

Local coverage reports that the search turned up more than just drugs. Deputies say they recovered $873 in cash, $7,035 in money orders, a replica firearm, two rounds of ammunition, and several items they suspect may be stolen. NBC 7 San Diego notes that White has prior convictions and is legally barred from having ammunition. Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the recovered property to contact the Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Station at 619-660-7090.

Items Recovered From the Vehicle

Deputies say the suspected stolen property read like a pawn shop inventory list. According to Patch San Diego, they catalogued collector coins, a bulk quantity of comic books, designer watches, and several boxes of silverware and jewelry alongside the drug evidence.

Investigators say the combination of packaged meth and hundreds of empty baggies is consistent with distribution-level activity rather than personal use.

Charges and Booking

White was booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale, being a felon in possession of ammunition, and on the pre-existing arrest warrant. Law enforcement officials say he is being held on $105,000 bail while prosecutors review the case and decide whether to file formal charges, according to 10News.

Local Context

The bust adds to a string of recent narcotics cases in East County. Deputies recently conducted a separate April 10 search in Spring Valley that uncovered drugs and led to child-abuse-related bookings, highlighting ongoing enforcement pressure in the area. The sheriff’s office says the latest investigation remains active and deputies continue to accept tips from the public, per Hoodline.
