The Las Vegas Strip is about to get its own slice of the Vatican. A life-size recreation of Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel is scheduled to open April 24 at The Shops at Crystals, bringing full-scale reproductions of the iconic ceiling and altar frescoes into a purpose-built gallery. The experience is being billed as a daytime cultural stop for families and visitors who want a museum-style look at Michelangelo without booking a flight to Rome.
In a press release via GlobeNewswire, SBX Group and SEE Global Entertainment confirmed the Las Vegas debut, stating that the exhibition will open Friday, April 24 at The Shops at Crystals. The release identifies House of Live as the ticketing partner and describes the attraction as a permanent, all-ages addition to the Strip.
The Shops at Crystals has quietly become one of the Strip's go-to homes for big-name touring exhibitions, recently housing Immersive Van Gogh and a Princess Diana show. Immersive Van Gogh packs up at Crystals in January, and the Van Gogh venue page lists Lighthouse ArtSpace at Crystals as the former location.
What you'll see
According to the press materials, the Crystals installation covers roughly 25,000 square feet and showcases reproductions of all 34 of Michelangelo’s frescoes. Life-size sculptural interpretations of David, Moses and the Pietà are part of the display, alongside a carved-style Last Judgment room, audio guides, educational signage and a curated retail area designed to extend the gallery experience, as outlined by GlobeNewswire.
Tickets and visiting info
Tickets are available through the exhibition's ticketing portal at House of Live, with local coverage noting that Nevada residents may qualify for discounted pricing. As reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, tickets for locals start at about $30, and additional discounts may be available for seniors, students and military visitors.
SEE Global Entertainment, which operates the touring version of the Sistine show, has mounted the project in multiple cities around the world and promotes it as an educational, family-friendly experience. The company's touring materials outline the exhibition's background and layout. Details on prior stops and production notes are available via SEE Global Entertainment.
Set to open April 24, the Las Vegas edition is positioned to join Crystals' mix of daytime cultural offerings amid the casinos and clubs. For the latest on hours and ticket options, visitors are directed to the show's ticket page at House of Live and the producers' official pages.
