
An 18-year-old man is behind bars after Harris County Sheriff’s Office detectives said they traced his car to a string of armed robberies at Subway sandwich shops across east Harris County. Deputies pulled the vehicle over Sunday, shortly after learning that a Subway in the 12600 block of Woodforest Boulevard had just been robbed. The driver was taken into custody, while a passenger bolted on foot. Authorities said the suspect is now linked to ten separate hold-ups and has been booked into the Harris County Jail.
Traffic stop follows reported hold-up at Woodforest Boulevard
According to ABC13 Houston, detectives had already zeroed in on a vehicle they believed was connected to multiple armed robberies at local Subway shops. When the Woodforest Boulevard robbery was reported, investigators said it matched the pattern of the earlier crimes. Patrol units spotted the suspected vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, taking the driver, identified as 18-year-old Devion Williams, into custody. A passenger ran from the scene, and investigators are now working to identify that person.
Investigators ask the public for help
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit said the investigation remains active and that leads are still coming in. Anyone who might recognize the second suspect or has information on any of the robberies is urged to contact authorities.
