Tasty Creamery looks to be gearing up for a second Jacksonville location, with plan-review paperwork hinting at an expansion to Normandy Boulevard in West Side Plaza. The filing lists Tasty Street Foods LLC as the applicant, signaling that the Argyle Forest ice-cream parlor that opened in 2022 may soon have company on the city's west side.
According to What Now, the application pins the prospective shop at 5808 Normandy Blvd, Unit 1 and references a Google Maps description that promises "hand-dipped ice cream, indulgent specialty milkshakes, and delectable sundaes." What Now reported that the outlet reached out to owner Laura Lee for comment, but she was not immediately available.
Argyle Original And Owners
The first Tasty Creamery location opened in 2022 at 6625 Argyle Forest Blvd and is run by spouses Kevin and Laura Lee, as noted by the Jax Daily Record. The Lees also operate the Tasty Dog mobile hot-dog stand and have carried that street-food sensibility into the creamery's offerings and local presence.
Where The Normandy Site Would Fit
The address at 5808 Normandy is part of the strip-center complex known as West Side Plaza, where a current listing shows the 5808–5960 Normandy Blvd block available for lease. LoopNet shows the center's footprint, and the location would put Tasty Creamery in a corridor that includes spots like Church’s Texas Chicken, Tunis Seafood Wings & Subs and C&C Eatery.
What Comes Next
Plan-review filings are an early administrative step, not a final green light. The City of Jacksonville's Building Inspection Division notes that plans submitted online go through review by several disciplines, including the fire marshal, before a building permit is issued. Applicants have to address reviewer comments, secure approvals, and pass inspections before a certificate of occupancy is granted.
For fans of heavy-on-the-toppings shakes and late-night sundaes, a Normandy Boulevard outpost would add one more sweet stop on Jacksonville's west side. For now, it is a waiting game as the paperwork moves through the system, and we will keep an eye on permitting activity and the creamery's public channels for any official word.
