
A teenage boy was shot Thursday evening on the 5300 block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue NE in Northeast Washington and taken to a nearby hospital, according to police, who say the case remains under investigation.

According to WJLA, the Metropolitan Police Department said officers responded around 5:14 p.m. to reports of a shooting on the block. They found a teenage male who was described as "half-conscious and breathing" and transported him to a nearby hospital. There was no immediate update on how severe his injuries were.
