A summer night at a Manor neighborhood pool ended in an arrest after police say a 13-year-old pulled a gun and robbed another teen of a watch on Saturday. Manor police report the youth showed the firearm during the confrontation, then took the watch before officers later recovered it and returned it to its owner.
Officers were called just after 9 p.m. to the Presidential Glen HOA pool at 19700 Andrew Johnson Drive, where witnesses reported the theft and identified the suspect, according to KXAN. The outlet reports the juvenile had previously been reported missing out of Pflugerville and tried to bolt through a backyard and into a field behind the home before officers caught up and took the teen into custody. KXAN also notes the youth already had a directive to apprehend from juvenile court for violating probation conditions and was transported to a county juvenile detention facility.
Where the teen was held
According to the Travis County Juvenile Probation Department, arrested juveniles from Manor are typically taken to the Gardner-Betts juvenile justice campus in South Austin, which holds pre-adjudication youth and houses the county's juvenile court operations. The facility's main office at 2515 S. Congress Ave. in Austin provides court, probation and secure-care services for Travis County, per the Travis County Juvenile Probation Department.
What officials say next
Police recovered the stolen watch and returned it to its owner, and investigators are still running down leads in the case, according to the initial report. Manor police have not released further identifying details about the juvenile and are asking anyone with additional information to contact the department, as reported by KXAN.
