A normally quiet residential block just east of Papago Park in Tempe turned into an active crime scene on Wednesday after a house was peppered with gunfire, shattering the front window but sparing anyone inside from serious injury, according to police.
Tempe officers headed to the neighborhood near Curry Road and Scottsdale Road after a single-family home was hit with multiple rounds and launched an investigation at the scene.
What happened
As reported by 12News, the home's front window took several hits, and investigators said as many as eight bullets struck the property. Officers stayed on scene gathering shell casings and other evidence while detectives canvassed the area for any witnesses or surveillance video, the station noted.

Tempe police told 12News the shooting "appears to be an isolated incident" and that "no significant injuries have been reported." The department said the investigation is ongoing, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
