Lakeside Social, a new waterfront food and entertainment park, is headed to Viera Town Center and is slated to debut this summer. The open-air concept is being pitched as a spot where locals can drop in any day of the week for drinks, rotating food options, live entertainment, and family-friendly events along the lakefront.
Who’s behind it
The project, set in Town Center Park at Viera Town Center, is a partnership between The Viera Company and Rogue Wave Hospitality Group, led by operator Daniel Todd, whose other local ventures include 4th Street Fillin Station and The Alibi, according to Florida Today. Viera Company executives previewed the site for community stakeholders this spring and are billing the venue as a community-focused amenity rather than just another nightlife spot.
What to expect
Planners say the heart of Lakeside Social will be a large central bar, backed up by a second boathouse-style bar overlooking the lake and several satellite bars that can handle crowds on busy nights. The open-air setting will be anchored by a curated roster of food vendors, to be announced closer to opening, and is expected to host live music, art shows, pop-up markets, and seasonal festivals. In a press release quoted by WhatNow, Daniel Todd said, “We wanted to create something that feels like a backyard on the water; a place the community can truly call their own.”
Vendors and events
Vendor lineups and event programming are still being locked in, and organizers say a limited number of vendor spots are still available through the project’s site, according to Florida Today. The plan is for a soft opening in early June, followed by a full grand-opening celebration over the July Fourth weekend.
When to go
Lakeside Social is expected to lean casual during the day, with a family-friendly atmosphere, then shift into a livelier scene with drinks and live acts in the evening. As June approaches, keep an eye on local coverage and the project’s online updates for the final vendor list and exact opening dates.
