El Paso police say a man suspected in a run of commercial break-ins on the West Side is now behind bars after officers caught up with him while he was allegedly carrying stolen property.
Authorities identified the suspect as 35-year-old Francisco Javier Solis-Jurado and said he was taken into custody Tuesday near Doniphan Drive and Montoya Drive on the city’s West Side.
According to KFOX, detectives had been looking into multiple commercial burglaries in the area since early March. Patrol officers reportedly spotted Solis-Jurado near the intersection and, after making contact, found an item investigators believe was taken during one of the break-ins.
Arrest Details And Police Account
Police said the encounter started as officers were patrolling the neighborhood when they noticed Solis-Jurado and approached him. During that stop, they say they discovered property that appeared to match evidence from an earlier burglary case.
The department released a photo of the arrest credited to the El Paso Police Department and asked anyone who might recognize the suspect or have information about the case to come forward.
Charges And What Comes Next
KFOX reports that Solis-Jurado was booked into the county detention facility on six counts of burglary of a building. His bond was set at $30,000. Any arraignment details and formal court filings will appear in public records as the case moves through the justice system.
Police did not immediately release information about which businesses were hit in the alleged string of burglaries or the total amount of loss involved.
