Downtown Alpharetta is getting a serious carb upgrade this summer, as Giulia Italian Bakery signs on at Alpharetta City Center with plans to roll out fresh Italian pastries, breads and gelato. The family-owned brand, launched in 2020 by brothers Ben and Seth Gjuka, is stepping beyond its Peachtree Corners and East Cobb shops with what will be its fourth metro Atlanta location. Regulars can look for familiar favorites like croissants, bombolones and focaccia sandwiches built with ingredients sourced from Italy.
Alpharetta Shop On The Way
According to WhatNow, Giulia is slated to open this summer at 2001 Commerce St in Alpharetta City Center, marking the brand's fourth outpost in the metro area. The report notes that the new space is expected to lean into a community-focused layout, with pastries and breads prominently displayed for customers to browse and choose.
Family Roots And Early-Morning Baking
Brothers Ben and Seth Gjuka launched Giulia in 2020 and have been slowly building out locations across the suburbs, per a press release cited by The Aha! Connection. Seth has said Giulia "has been about more than exceptional pastries and breads," with the team firing up the ovens in the early hours to prepare each day's lineup before most customers are even awake.
What Is On The Menu
At Giulia's Peachtree Corners location, the menu spans croissants, bombolones, baguettes, sourdough loaves and focaccia sandwiches, along with a rotating roster of gelato flavors, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The outlet also notes that Giulia's coffee program leans hard on espresso-based drinks that are meant to pair with those pastries.
Main Street Vibes In The City Center
Alpharetta City Center bills itself as a 26-acre mixed-use downtown destination at 2001 Commerce Street, where shops, restaurants and city services are clustered in a walkable setting. Leaders at Alpharetta City Center say the development's main-street feel lines up with Giulia's goal of serving as a neighborhood hangout.
WhatNow also reports that local restaurateur Juan Calle plans to bring Amasa, a Mexican concept, to the same property this summer, adding one more reason for downtown Alpharetta residents to wander over. For now, Giulia is sticking with a broad "this summer" target for its opening, with specific hours and an official launch date still to come.
