An anonymous tip turned into a deadly discovery for Houston police on Monday night, when officers were directed to an east Houston parking lot and found a man in his 70s who had been shot. Houston Fire Department crews treated the victim at the scene and rushed him to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Investigators said the man had suffered an unknown number of gunshot wounds as they combed through the lot for clues. No arrests have been reported so far.
As reported by ABC13 Houston, Lt. J.P. Horelica said the tip led officers to a parking lot at Fidelity Street and Delaware Street, where they found the wounded man. "The Houston Fire Department arrived on scene, worked on him, and transported him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead," Horelica said. Police told ABC13 the victim's identity has not yet been released as homicide detectives continue their work.

Officers spent the night canvassing for witnesses and surveillance video in the Clinton Park area, a neighborhood that has already drawn heavy law-enforcement attention in recent weeks. In early April, a large, multiagency operation included searches along Delaware and Fidelity streets, highlighting how closely authorities have been watching the area. Residents told reporters they saw tactical teams and federal agents moving through the neighborhood during that earlier sweep.
