Armada has officially traded its smaller Fox Chapel office for a sprawling, 90,000-square-foot, three-story headquarters in Wexford’s Innovation Ridge, opening the new space Tuesday. The century-old supply chain firm says the move is about more than square footage, pitching the campus as a central hub for training, meetings and engineering work as the company keeps growing. Executives are also blunt about another goal: using the upgraded digs to pull workers back into a more hands-on, collaborative office routine.
Inside the New Wexford Headquarters
The company is starting in about 65,000 square feet of the building and plans to grow into the rest over time, according to Axios Pittsburgh. The three-story space features a large first-floor training center, 26 conference rooms, several private phone and meeting rooms, and six treadmill-equipped desks, all overlooking preserved wetlands. More than 300 employees will now work on a hybrid schedule, with three days in the office and two days remote under the company’s new plan.
How Armada Landed Here
Law firm Sherrard, German & Kelly, P.C. says the property was purchased through Armada Sunset Holdings and Whitney Bay Partners and covers roughly eight acres inside the RIDC Innovation Ridge business park, in a deal that included the 90,000-square-foot, three-story building. The firm says it handled the purchase and financing work on the project, which it first announced in October 2024. The transaction delivers Armada a sizable, modern North Hills campus instead of its former, tighter footprint.
What the CEO Says
“Connecting the dots is what we do. We are right in the middle of a supply chain, and that takes a lot of collaboration,” CEO Chris O’Brien said as Armada previewed the new space. He told reporters that the layout is intentionally built to spark that collaboration and to support Armada’s expansion into general manufacturing, automobiles, life science, health care, and robotics. The comments came during a sneak peek with Axios Pittsburgh, where O’Brien framed the headquarters as both an operations hub and a statement about where the company is headed.
Scale and Credibility
The company generated roughly $5.8 billion in revenue last year, according to Forbes, a sign of the scale behind its logistics work. Armada was also named McDonald’s U.S. Supplier of the Year for 2025, per a press release on Armada.net. Company leaders say the new headquarters is built to handle the training, engineering, and client work that comes with those national accounts, giving staff more room to operate than the old Fox Chapel office ever could.
Why It Matters Locally
The project plants another major office flag in the North Hills and sets up a centralized base for hiring and upskilling the workers who run Armada’s logistics and technology services. Sherrard, German & Kelly describe the property as part of the RIDC Innovation Ridge business park and say its size positions it to draw in related employers and vendors. For now, the expansive training center and flexible conference areas are the clearest hints that Armada is planning to do a lot more in Wexford than just park people at desks.
