Officers set up a perimeter in the area and told residents to steer clear while medics took the victim to a local hospital, where she was reported to be in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators said the suspect is a man known to the victim who ran from the scene on foot while still carrying a weapon. As of 1:15 a.m., police said he had not been found, and the investigation was still active.
According to a public update from the City of Denton Fire Department, the victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition after the shooting. The same update notes that the suspect, described as a male known to the victim, fled on foot and was believed to still be armed. “The suspect in this incident has not yet been located,” the post added, as investigators continued their work overnight.
