An armed 17-year-old is on the run after a Wednesday night stabbing near Lenck Avenue and Main Street in East Troy, and police say the search is far from over.

Officers responded after a woman called 911, reporting that a male with a knife was chasing her and her husband. The man was later found with a head wound and taken to a hospital. Neighbors reported heavy law enforcement activity as a perimeter went up and a multi-agency search unfolded around the neighborhood.

According to FOX6 News Milwaukee, which says the information was provided by the East Troy Police Department, officers were called to the home at about 7 p.m. Wednesday night. The Walworth County SWAT team was deployed, and chemical agents were used with no result, after which SWAT made entry to search the residence. An extensive area search using drones turned up no immediate sign of the suspect, and investigators say a blue 2006 Toyota Camry with Wisconsin plate 613WGN was taken during the incident.

Suspect Description and Vehicle

"Hayes is considered armed and dangerous," the department said, per FOX6 News Milwaukee. Police identified the suspect as 17-year-old Solomon Hayes, described as a white male about 5'8" and 147 pounds with brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeve hoodie, black pants and boots.

Residents are urged not to approach anyone matching that description and to immediately call 911.
