A man and a woman were found shot to death in separate vehicles on Detroit’s east side yesterday, after gunfire ripped through the McKinney Street area near I‑94 and Whittier, according to police.
Officers responding to reports of shots fired discovered each victim inside a different car. Investigators are treating the case as a drive‑by shooting, as reported by The Metro Detroit News. Police have not released any suspect information, and detectives say additional details will come as the investigation moves forward.
East Side Context And Earlier Shootings
The killings mark another grim incident in a series of violent episodes on the east side in recent months. In February, a quadruple shooting at a repass left two people dead and two others injured, according to ClickOnDetroit. After that attack, police canvassed the neighborhood and urged anyone with video or tips to come forward.
What Investigators Say
Detectives with the Detroit Police Department’s homicide unit worked the scene late into Wednesday night, and officials say the probe remains active as officers review evidence and search for any available video, The Metro Detroit News reported. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police so investigators can follow up.
