
A gun-toting robber walked into a Ditmas Avenue business in the early hours of Sunday, flashed a firearm at two women inside and walked out with just $2 and a cellphone, according to police.
The holdup unfolded at about 1:18 a.m. at 422 Ditmas Avenue, authorities said. The suspect entered the shop, showed a gun to a 56-year-old woman and a 49-year-old woman, grabbed the small amount of cash from the register along with a phone, then fled the scene on a scooter heading northbound on East 5 Street.
Police Offer Cash For Tips
In an alert posted by NYPD Crime Stoppers, investigators asked anyone with information on the suspect to call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online through the official Crime Stoppers website. The notice also lists a Spanish-language tip line at 1-888-57-PISTA.
According to the alert, there is a reward of up to $3,500 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case. Tips can also be sent via X to @NYPDTips.
66th Precinct Probing Overnight Heist
Police said the man entered the commercial establishment, "displayed a firearm" to the two women and took the cash from the register along with the cellphone before riding off on the scooter toward parts unknown. The NYPD’s 66th Precinct is handling the investigation and is asking anyone with video, photos or eyewitness details from the area around Ditmas Avenue and East 5 Street to come forward.
