Tiffany's Bakery, the family-run Center City staple known for its strawberry shortcakes and celebration cakes, is heading up the hill to Manayunk this weekend. The new storefront opens this Saturday and the bakery is celebrating with a 500-cupcake giveaway running from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Manayunk outpost will set up shop at 4254 Main St on Manayunk’s Main Street. The grand opening, including the 500 free cupcakes scheduled between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. this Saturday, was detailed by PHL17.

Owner Frank Pantazopoulos describes the Manayunk expansion as a family-driven move as the business heads toward its 50th anniversary. "We’re really excited to carry our legacy forward to Manayunk and become part of this amazing community," he said. The new storefront features hand-painted windows by Cameryn Popiel and an exterior floral arch by Patricia Berryman of Bloomberry Studios, according to Patch.

Michael Klein at The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the Manayunk location will open in the morning with coffee and La Colombe espresso, danish and croissants, sticky buns, breakfast sandwiches and the bakery’s DOYO steamed doughnuts. The report also notes that 4254 Main St most recently housed Winnie’s Market, putting Tiffany’s into Main Street’s steady mix of retail spots.
