Last night on Pontiac's 300 block of Central Avenue turned deadly when a 25-year-old man was shot and killed while inside his bedroom, authorities said. Deputies and emergency crews rushed in and tried to save him, but he was later pronounced dead. Oakland County investigators launched a homicide probe after finding shell casings outside the bedroom window.
What officials say
Oakland County Sheriff's deputies were called to the home shortly after 10 p.m. last night after reports that a man had been shot, according to a news release cited by FOX 2 Detroit. Someone inside the residence told deputies the victim had been shot in the neck and was not breathing. First responders performed life-saving measures, but the man did not survive.
Investigators later found shell casings outside the victim's bedroom window, and the shooting remains under active investigation, according to the same news release referenced by FOX 2 Detroit.
