A 27-year-old man is behind bars after deputies say a pickup plowed into his neighbor inside a Channelview RV park, leaving the victim injured and repeatedly hospitalized. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 27-year-old Fernando Bravo, who was booked on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to ABC13. Surveillance video reviewed by the station shows a truck striking the man inside the RV park, and deputies said they moved in with an arrest after reviewing the footage and investigating the case.
The victim, who asked not to be identified, told the station the harassment had been building for months and that the collision has left him “in and out of the hospital.” “That was a hard hit — felt like a no-look hit,” he said. He also said the suspect continued to threaten him afterward: “I'm going to kill you next time, white boy,” ABC13 reported.
String of violent calls rattles Channelview
The RV park incident is the latest in a series of serious calls shaking Channelview in recent weeks. In April, Click2Houston reported that a toddler was critically injured after an unintentional shooting at a home in the area. Earlier this month, an hours-long SWAT standoff unfolded after deputies said a man pointed a gun at a relative, according to FOX 26.
Investigators have not publicly released the RV park's name or its exact location, and it was not immediately clear when Bravo would make his first court appearance. Local authorities are asking anyone with information about the collision to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, and ABC13 reported that deputies are continuing to investigate.
