A 35-year-old Charlotte man is behind bars after Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say he kidnapped a 15-year-old girl in east Charlotte earlier this month. The teen has been recovered, and the suspect is now facing multiple felony charges while investigators work to verify the teen's account and track down any additional witnesses.
According to WCNC, officers identified the suspect as 35-year-old Jarred Perry and took him into custody at his home on Rollingridge Drive. He is being held without bond on charges of first-degree kidnapping and three counts of indecent liberties with a child, with his next court date listed as May 28.

Investigators say the incident began on May 5, when the 15-year-old was walking along North Sharon Amity Road near Vernedale Road. According to police, Perry approached the teen, grabbed her arm and leg, and tried to kiss her before forcing her into his vehicle. Detectives allege he first drove her to his Rollingridge Drive home and later to a parking lot on East Independence Boulevard. The case was reported to police on May 8, per WCNC.
