A Sunday drive on the Grand Central Parkway in Queens turned deadly when a 76-year-old woman walking in an eastbound driving lane was struck and later died at the hospital, authorities said.
Police identified the victim as 76-year-old Yuang Qin. According to investigators, she was hit on the eastbound side of the parkway near Exit 10 for the Long Island Expressway in the Corona section of Queens and suffered severe head and torso trauma.
The driver, a 43-year-old man behind the wheel of a 2013 Toyota Highlander, remained at the scene, police said. Qin was rushed to NewYork‑Presbyterian Queens in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead.
