More than 18,000 of the swings are being recalled after reports that the seat can suddenly detach from the frame while someone is sitting on it, turning a relaxing sway into a hard fall. The swings were sold at Costco warehouses and on Costco.com earlier this year, and owners are being told to stop using them immediately. The manufacturer and retailer are offering free replacement hooks and step by step instructions to secure the seats.
What the recall covers
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall (Recall No. 26-485) was announced May 14, 2026 and covers about 18,500 Agio Menlo Woven Patio Swings, model 1934256, sold exclusively at Costco. The swings were available at Costco warehouses and on Costco.com between February and March 2026 and retailed for roughly $549 to $649.
The agency also reminded consumers that federal law prohibits anyone from selling products that are subject to a Commission ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC.
Incidents and injuries
The U.S. distributor, World Bright International Limited, reported eight incidents where the swing seat detached from the frame while in use, leading to eight injuries that included impacts to the head and arms, per the Agio recall page. The company says it will provide replacement S hooks and instructions free of charge and has apologized for the trouble.
How to check your swing and get a free repair
Costco’s consumer notice tells customers to stop using the swing right away and head to the Agio recall page to request a free repair kit. The kit includes four replacement hooks and written instructions on how to swap out the old hardware, according to a notice posted by Costco.
The recalled model number is 1934256. The swing has a black metal frame, black metal swing arms, a fabric canopy and a brown padded wicker seat. The frame is about 75 inches high, 71 inches wide and 48 inches deep. If any of that sounds like the one in your yard, you should double check the paperwork or labeling before anyone climbs back on.
