Hilliard is going big for the Fourth. The City will host a free, family-friendly Freedom Fest at Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park on Saturday, July 4, 2026, with country star Cole Swindell headlining the evening. The celebration is scheduled to run from about 5 to 11 p.m. and will feature live music, food trucks, a Kid Zone packed with inflatables and games, an America 250 picnic tent, and a professional fireworks show at dusk. Wristbands for Kid Zone activities will be sold in advance at The Well, with a limited number available on-site the day of the event. Sponsors for the festival include Amazon, the Credit Union of Ohio, and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Lineup and schedule
According to Destination Hilliard, the festival runs from 5 to 11 p.m. on July 4 and names Cole Swindell as the headlining act. An official City of Hilliard Facebook post shares the same details along with an interactive event map and vendor list. That post also lays out the full entertainment lineup and includes a printable site map for anyone who wants to strategize their food-truck and fireworks viewing spots ahead of time.
Kid Zone, wristbands and logistics
According to the City of Hilliard event page, Kid Zone wristbands will be on sale May 23 through July 3 at The Well (3993 Cosgray Road). Resident pre-sale pricing is listed at $8, with nonresident pre-sale at $9, and a limited $10 cash option available at the event starting at 4 p.m. The same page outlines shuttle service from the Franklin County Fairgrounds, designated parking at nearby schools, and temporary road closures designed to help traffic clear out after the fireworks. Seating in the park is first-come, first-served, and organizers note that alcohol, drones, glass, and personal fireworks are prohibited.
Sponsors and America 250 picnic
The City’s Facebook announcement highlights a special America 250 picnic tent as part of the festivities and publicly thanks sponsors, including Amazon, the Credit Union of Ohio, and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The City of Hilliard Facebook post includes the sponsor list as well as the detailed event map. Attendees with accessibility needs are directed to that interactive map to locate accessible parking and viewing areas.
Plan ahead
Organizers expect large crowds and limited on-site parking, so arriving early is strongly encouraged. Suggested options include using the shuttle service or parking at Heritage Middle School and Hilliard Darby High School. For real-time updates on parking availability, weather, and road closures, attendees are instructed to text “HilliardOH” to 888-777 or check the City of Hilliard event page. Guests are invited to bring blankets and chairs, keep cooler contents within the posted prohibited-items list, and note that all wristband sales are non-refundable.
