A quiet Northwest Side block woke up to sirens early Friday after a family argument ended in a near-fatal stabbing off Grovehill Drive near Logwood Avenue, leaving one man clinging to life in the hospital.
San Antonio police say the stabbing happened around 6:30 a.m. in the typically calm neighborhood. The victim, a man whose name has not been released, was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officers said the two men involved are related and had been arguing when things escalated and one of them was stabbed. As of Friday morning, it was not immediately clear whether a suspect was in custody.
Police Investigating
According to News4SanAntonio, officers flooded the block as detectives began working the case, speaking with several witnesses and processing the street for evidence. Investigators canvassed nearby homes, documenting the scene and trying to piece together what led up to the stabbing between the relatives.
Where This Fits
The stabbing adds to a string of violent incidents reported on the north and northwest sides this spring, even as citywide numbers suggest some categories of violent crime are trending down. Local reporting and police statistics indicate overall crime fell in 2025; for more context on recent trends and hotspot policing efforts, see coverage from the San Antonio Report.
