Two people were killed and two others were seriously injured in separate overnight shootings across Charlotte early Sunday, according to medics and police. One scene was in the 5300 block of Old Pineville Road, and the other was in the 4900 block of Rozzelles Ferry Road. Investigators spent the early morning processing both crime scenes and briefly shut down parts of Rozzelles Ferry Road while detectives worked.
What medics reported
As reported by Queen City News, MEDIC said two people from the Old Pineville Road shooting were transported to a local hospital, one with life-threatening injuries and another with serious injuries.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department told reporters that officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds in the 4900 block of Rozzelles Ferry Road. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person from that scene was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died, the department said.
Police ask for tips
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating both shootings and has not released suspect descriptions or possible motives. Community members with information are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or submit an anonymous tip online via Charlotte Crime Stoppers. Police closed Rozzelles Ferry Road in both directions for part of the investigation, officials said.

Investigators have released no other details on either shooting, including whether the incidents were connected, according to Queen City News. Anyone with video or eyewitness information is asked to contact CMPD or Crime Stoppers as detectives continue the probe.
