A Friday morning domestic dispute in Wesley Chapel's Meadow Pointe community escalated into a stabbing and a shooting, leaving three adults injured and an ordinarily quiet block buzzing with deputies and sirens, authorities said. Pasco Sheriff's deputies responded to the Chesapeake Bay Drive area at about 8:37 a.m., where they found an adult man, an adult woman and a second man hurt. All three were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, though officials have not released their conditions. Deputies have labeled the confrontation as an isolated incident and say there is no ongoing public-safety threat for residents.
According to the Tampa Free Press, preliminary information suggests the man first stabbed the woman before he was shot by the second man. Everyone involved was known to one another, investigators say. The outlet also reports that authorities have not yet released the names of those involved and have not confirmed whether any charges will be filed.
Pasco deputies call the scene isolated
In a statement to the Tampa Free Press, the Pasco Sheriff's Office said, "This appears to be an isolated incident amongst known parties, and there is no public safety threat." Detectives remained in the neighborhood Friday, combing the scene for evidence and speaking with potential witnesses to piece together exactly how the dispute turned violent.
