New Yorkers who have ever walked out of Union Square with an armful of skyline plates and novelty mugs are about to get tempted all over again. Iconic home goods shop Fishs Eddy is opening a third NYC outpost inside Chelsea Market tomorrow, bringing its trademark mix of vintage restaurant dishes, cheeky mugs and city-themed tableware to the market's concourse. The move follows the brand's October 2025 expansion into DUMBO, where Fishs Eddy added a vintage-style cafe and soda fountain. For both locals and visitors, the new Chelsea Market shop is set to deliver the same playful, practical wares that have kept the Union Square flagship busy for decades.
Fishs Eddy Lands Inside Chelsea Market
In a statement to Time Out, CEO Daniel Yadgard said "Chelsea Market felt like a natural fit for us," pointing to the way the food-centric hall lines up neatly with the brand's tableware focus. According to the outlet, the shop is slated to debut inside the market tomorrow, with courtesy photos supplied by Chelsea Market offering a first look at the space. Shoppers can expect Fishs Eddy's familiar mix of budget-friendly everyday pieces alongside one-off novelty finds.
From Barn Haul To Three Shops
Julie Gaines and David Lenovitz launched Fishs Eddy in 1986 after buying up a trove of restaurant dishware in upstate New York, according to Fishs Eddy, which lists the flagship store at 889 Broadway near Union Square. The brand added a second New York City outpost in DUMBO in October 2025 that features a coffee counter and an old-school soda fountain, per Eater. That Brooklyn shop lets customers pair a browse through the shelves with an affordable coffee or classic soda-fountain bite.
Why Chelsea Market
Chelsea Market's directory and events calendar show a steady, year-round stream of food vendors, boutiques and rotating pop-ups, making the concourse a prime draw for retailers. The space is already home to long-running New York names along with regular maker pop-ups that help keep foot traffic humming. Fishs Eddy's arrival adds another homegrown, distinctly New York option for shoppers threading their way through the market's mix of legacy vendors and newer arrivals.
