Two men are behind bars after what started as a late-April gas station holdup in Galt ended with a warrant raid at a south Sacramento home, according to Galt police.
The department says officers zeroed in on a suspect vehicle after an armed robbery on the 12000 block of East Stockton Boulevard, then followed the trail to a residence in south Sacramento. A search warrant served there on May 14 led to the arrests and to evidence investigators say tied the suspects to the gas station case.
Police identified the men as Alejandro Roque Jr. and Juan Jesus Rivera. Roque was booked on suspicion of robbery with a firearm and of committing a felony while out on bail. Rivera was booked on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy and on an outstanding felony warrant. Galt police publicly thanked the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office and its Special Enforcement Detail for backing them up on the operation.
Warrant Service and SED Involvement
According to the Galt Police Department, investigators connected a vehicle from the gas station robbery to a later shooting and secured a search warrant for a south Sacramento address on May 14. Serving that warrant resulted in the two arrests.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Special Enforcement Detail assisted with the warrant service. The county's Military Equipment Use Report notes that the SED routinely supports high‑risk warrants and uses armored vehicles, unmanned aircraft systems and other specialized tools to reduce risks during entries, per the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.
Robbery at the Pump
"The victim was robbed at gunpoint while getting fuel," Galt police wrote, describing the April 27 robbery on the 12000 block of East Stockton Boulevard. The department says evidence later linked a vehicle used in that holdup to a separate shooting investigation handled by county detectives, a connection they shared on the Galt Police Department page.
Charges and Background
In its public post, Galt police listed the booking charges for Roque and Rivera and noted that Rivera had an outstanding felony warrant from an outside agency when he was taken into custody.
A July 2025 report from KCRA shows that a man named Alejandro Roque Jr. was previously arrested after a stabbing in Citrus Heights and later located in Antelope; that earlier coverage said officers recovered two handguns during that stop. It is not clear from public information whether prosecutors plan to pursue any additional charges in the current Galt case.
Investigative Cooperation
The Galt Police Department says its investigation is still active as detectives and partner agencies follow up on leads. The county's military equipment report highlights how the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Detail and local police departments coordinate on high‑risk entries in order to improve public safety and recover illegal weapons, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.
