By later today, skies should turn partly sunny, with a high near 68°F inland and upper 50s to low 60s along the coast. South–southwest winds around 5–8 mph will be on the light side, and there is only a small chance of a sprinkle for parts of the region, according to the National Weather Service Seattle. In other words, keep the light jacket handy, but the umbrella can probably stay home.

Low clouds and pockets of reduced visibility will linger into the later morning before thinning or scattering between about 2 and 5 p.m. PDT, setting up a much brighter second half of the day once the sun breaks through.
Out on the water, conditions get a bit more serious. Coastal and offshore seas are expected to build to around 9–11 feet tonight with gusts up to about 25 knots, and a Small Craft Advisory is in effect for parts of the coastal waters. The low clouds could also bring brief periods of reduced visibility at Sea‑Tac and other Sound‑area airports during the morning commute, with conditions improving by the afternoon. Mariners and small‑boat operators are advised to use caution, per the National Weather Service marine forecast.

High pressure will stick around through Thursday, so look for a repeat performance of low clouds in the morning followed by mild, pleasant afternoons that are comfortable for early May. A weak, dying frontal system could bring a slight chance of light showers to the coast and mountains on Friday, but most interior lowlands should stay dry and even warm up a bit heading into the weekend.
