
Gunfire inside an Akron bar turned a routine Monday night into a crime scene, sending two people to the hospital and leaving everyone else scrambling for cover as police rushed in to lock the place down.
Emergency crews transported the two wounded victims to local hospitals while officers moved quickly to secure the building and the surrounding area. Police have not released the victims' names or their conditions.
Shooting Reported Inside Akron Bar
According to Fox 8 Cleveland, the shooting happened inside a bar in Akron on Monday evening, and two people were taken to the hospital. Officers were on scene as detectives canvassed for witnesses and pulled surveillance footage, the outlet reported. It was not immediately clear whether any arrests had been made.
Pattern Of Violence Near Nightlife Spots
This latest incident fits into a troubling pattern of bar-related shootings in Akron. As Cleveland 19 reported, a March 23 shooting left a security guard wounded outside The Vortex Concert Club & Lounge. Cleveland 19 also covered a March 2025 shooting at the Field House Lounge that wounded multiple people, underscoring ongoing safety concerns around downtown nightlife.

Akron police say the investigation remains active and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who has video from inside or outside the bar to contact the department. Officials have not released a motive or a suspect description and said they will provide updates as they become available.
