A Sunday call about a reported carjacking in northeast Harris County quickly turned into a shooting scene, after deputies found an adult man with multiple gunshot wounds near the eastbound feeder of the Sam Houston Parkway.
Precinct 3 deputies were dispatched to the 14200 block of E. Sam Houston Parkway, near Forest Acres Drive, where they discovered the wounded man and coordinated for an air ambulance to transport him from the scene. His condition was not immediately known. Homicide detectives and crime scene units were called in as deputies locked down the area.
According to a post from Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the incident started as a reported carjacking. When deputies arrived, they found the shooting victim and began their investigation. The sheriff's post did not identify the man or list any suspects.

"The male is being transported by Lifeflight," Gonzalez wrote in his social media update, adding that Harris County Sheriff's Office detectives were on their way to the scene. As of that early stage, officials had not released the victim's name, his condition, or any information about potential arrests.
