Primary Day has landed in Hamblen County, and voters are heading out today for the county primary election. Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and residents should vote at the precinct printed on their voter registration cards. Early voting wrapped up April 30, and county officials list May 5 as the official Election Day.
The City of Morristown is reminding residents that they must use the precinct shown on their voter registration cards and notes that the county app can help you find your polling place by typing in your address, according to a post by City of Morristown - Government. The post also repeats the 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. polling window for today’s county primary.
Where To Vote And When
Hamblen County’s Election Commission posts a full list of Election Day precincts and sample ballots and confirms that early voting ran from April 15 through April 30 at locations including the Election Commission office, Holston Electric Cooperative and Morristown Public Works. For precinct maps, sample ballots and other voting details, see the Hamblen County Election Commission.
What To Bring And How To Check Your Ballot
Tennessee requires a federal or Tennessee government-issued photo ID for in-person voting. Voters who arrive without an acceptable ID may cast a provisional ballot and then have two business days after Election Day to present their ID, according to the Tennessee Secretary of State. The Secretary of State also directs voters to the GoVoteTN app and the state’s voter lookup tools for sample ballots and polling-place hours.
If you run into problems at the polls or need to double-check your location, you can call the Election Commission at (423) 586-7169 or consult the county’s precinct map and sample ballots. For official precinct locations and downloadable maps, see the county’s voting-precinct PDF: Hamblen County voting precincts.
