Family members had called for help after finding several people unresponsive shortly after 8 p.m., and officers arrived at a scene that detectives are now treating as a homicide investigation. In a Thornton Police Department update, officials said officers were dispatched after a family member reported multiple residents unresponsive inside the Harrison Street home. Officers entered the residence and found four people who were described as "obviously deceased." Detectives immediately opened a homicide investigation.
According to the department, investigators are processing the scene and interviewing witnesses, and at this point do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the wider community. The identities of the four people are being withheld until the Adams & Broomfield County Office of the Coroner can complete identification and notify next of kin.
