
A man died Wednesday after falling from the ceiling inside the R/C Reading Movies 11 & IMAX in downtown Reading, according to city officials. Emergency crews were called to the theater late Wednesday morning. First responders began life-saving efforts on site, but the man, whose identity has not been released, did not survive.
NBC10 Philadelphia reports that crews arrived at about 11:34 a.m. and found the man unconscious after what investigators believe was a fall of roughly 50 feet inside the building. Despite emergency treatment at the theater, he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Where It Happened
The fall occurred inside R/C Reading Movies 11 & IMAX, listed at 30 North Second Street in downtown Reading. The complex includes an IMAX auditorium and multiple movie screens, according to the RC Theatres website.
Police Review
City officials told NBC10 Philadelphia that Reading police reviewed the scene and believe the incident was an accident. Authorities have not released further details.
