Most of the day will be mostly sunny with highs near 87°F, and only a small chance of a brief late-afternoon shower. The bigger concern is in the water, where dangerous rip currents will keep ocean swimming risky through the weekend.
Rip Currents Through The Weekend
The National Weather Service in Jacksonville issued a Rip Current Statement early Saturday warning of dangerous rip currents for northeast Florida and southeast Georgia beaches through late Sunday night. Surf is expected around 2 to 4 feet, and the currents can pull swimmers offshore. Officials urge beachgoers to swim only near lifeguarded areas, and if you do get caught in a rip current, relax and float instead of trying to swim against it, according to NWS Jacksonville.
Afternoon And Weekend Outlook
Most spots will stay dry and mostly sunny today, with highs around 86–87°F. It will be a bit cooler right on the sand and hotter inland, where readings could reach the lower 90s. East to southeast winds will run about 5 to 16 mph, with stronger gusts along the beaches. There is a slight chance of a quick shower or isolated downpour between about 4 and 5 p.m. Moisture increases Sunday, bringing a higher chance of afternoon showers and isolated thunderstorms where sea breezes collide near the I-75 corridor. Outdoor plans should be timed with those afternoon chances in mind, according to NWS Jacksonville.

If you are heading to the beach, choose a lifeguarded stretch of shoreline, keep kids within arm’s reach, and stay out of the water if the surf looks rough. For any outdoor plans, bring plenty of water, expect breezy onshore winds, and have an indoor backup option ready in case a late-day storm briefly flares up.
