
A 4-year-old boy is dead after a shooting at a home in La Pryor, a small community in Zavala County. Deputies responded to the residence, and the child was flown to a trauma center in San Antonio, where he later died from his injuries, according to authorities. The Zavala County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the death and says the investigation is still underway.
What deputies say
According to KENS5, deputies were called to the La Pryor residence for a report of a gunshot wound involving a 4-year-old child. First responders arranged for the child to be airlifted to a San Antonio trauma facility, but he did not survive.
In a Facebook statement cited by KENS5, the Zavala County Sheriff’s Office said it "extends its deepest condolences to the family" and added that no additional information will be released while the probe continues.

The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation remains active as deputies and investigators work the scene and gather information from the area. No arrests have been announced, no suspects have been identified, and authorities have not shared any further details about what led up to the shooting.
