Three people were stabbed Wednesday night on the 1400 block of South Wilmington Street in Raleigh, turning what started as an argument into a bloody late-night street fight. All three were taken to the hospital with injuries that police described as non-life-threatening.
Police Say Argument Turned Violent
Raleigh police told WRAL that the confrontation began as an argument before someone pulled a knife. Multiple police cruisers swarmed the area as detectives processed the 1400 block of South Wilmington Street, and investigators remained on the scene into the night. As of Wednesday night, all three victims were hospitalized and no arrests had been announced.
Downtown Violence Adds To Safety Jitters
The stabbings land on top of a recent run of late-night fights and blade-related violence in downtown Raleigh. In April, a confrontation on Fayetteville Street left six people wounded and set off a reopened investigation and then the dismissal of charges after video evidence complicated the case, according to The News & Observer.
