Legion Sports Bar, the Seahawks-themed hangout co-founded by Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor, has quietly called it a day in Bellevue. The Lincoln Square spot served its final round last Thursday after three years, with the ownership team shifting its energy back to Lumen Field, where Legion already runs concessions on game days. Fans who showed up downtown for a Bam Bam Smash Burger or a late-night DJ set instead found the doors locked as staff wrapped up service.
In an Instagram post, the team explained that "after much consideration, we have decided to close our Bellevue location and focus back where it all started at Lumen Field Stadium," as reported by KIRO 7. The message thanked guests for their support and confirmed that Legion will keep serving fans inside the stadium's club level instead of operating the standalone downtown bar and restaurant.
From Lincoln Square To Downtown
Legion opened in downtown Bellevue in October 2023 as a roughly 7,620-square-foot game-day gathering spot in the former Pearl Seafood & Oyster Bar space, according to Downtown Bellevue. The concept, founded by local restaurateur Leilani Wong with Sherman and Chancellor listed as partners, quickly leaned into Seahawks-centric programming, building its identity around large watch parties and team-themed events.
Food Will Live On At Lumen Field
Fans will not have to say goodbye to the food entirely. Ownership says the Legion menu will stay in play at Lumen Field on game days, and Kam Chancellor told reporters the restaurant would continue to serve signature items like the Bam Bam Smash Burger and cajun shrimp out of Section 122 at the stadium, per KIRO 7. The shift concentrates the Legion brand on event and stadium concessions instead of a full-service downtown restaurant model.
What People Will Miss
Legion's menu blended riffs on soul food with familiar sports-bar staples, including smash burgers, fried catfish, wings and peach cobbler, according to Legion Sports Bar. Beyond the food, the venue built a niche with player meet-and-greets, themed watch parties and DJ nights that helped it stand out on Bellevue's nightlife calendar.
What comes next for the Lincoln Square space is still unknown. The address at 700 Bellevue Way Northeast has seen multiple tenants cycle through over the years, Downtown Bellevue notes, and Legion's exit adds to a pattern of turnover among larger downtown restaurant spaces. For now, anyone craving the Legion experience will have to find it inside Lumen Field on game days.
