
What started as a routine walk through a downtown Columbus parking garage turned violent Thursday night when a man trying to stop a car break-in was slashed in the face, according to police.
Authorities say the man confronted someone who was breaking into a parked vehicle inside a parking garage in the 200 block of Liberty St. The confrontation quickly escalated, and the suspect cut the victim in the face with a knife before running off, CW Columbus reported.
As part of the Robbery Unit's investigation, officers have released a photo of the suspect. Police described him as a white male, believed to be between 25 and 35 years old, who fled the area after the attack, according to CW Columbus.
