A homicide investigation is underway in Llano after authorities identified the man who died following a medical emergency that drew deputies and paramedics to the Antelope Valley community last week. Officials have named the 41-year-old as Elias Tapia, who deputies took to a hospital after they responded Wednesday morning near 173rd Street and East Avenue T. Tapia was later pronounced dead, according to investigators.
As reported by MyNewsLA, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed Tapia’s identity on Sunday. The agency maintains a public case search at me.lacounty.gov. Sheriff’s homicide detectives were sent to the scene at about 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, and authorities say they are still in the early stages of the investigation. No suspect description or possible motive has been released.
