According to First Coast News, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said deputies responded Sunday to reports of gunfire in a residential stretch of Mayfair Road and found a wounded person who was taken to a hospital and later pronounced deceased. Witnesses described a male suspect, but as of a Sunday briefing that suspect had not been arrested, the agency told reporters.
Detectives were canvassing the area for surveillance video and additional witnesses as they worked to piece together what led up to the shooting.
