McKinsey & Company is doubling down on Florida, shifting its Miami hub deeper into Brickell as it ramps up staff across the state. The global consulting giant’s move adds more corporate muscle to a downtown office scene that has been luring finance and tech heavyweights in recent years. For Miami, it is another sign the city is not just a beach getaway but a bona fide regional business hub.
As reported by South Florida Business Journal, McKinsey will shift its Miami office to 701 Brickell Avenue. The outlet notes the firm now has close to 400 employees in South Florida, up from roughly 85 professionals in 2019.
According to McKinsey & Company, the firm’s Miami page still lists a Brickell City Centre location at 78 SW 7th Street and profiles partners who lead the Florida practice. That listing underscores a longer-running local footprint as McKinsey prepares to change addresses within Brickell.
Why Brickell Matters
Brickell has become the go-to neighborhood for firms chasing trophy-quality, Class A office space, and leasing activity there has surged. The Real Deal has tracked a string of major corporate commitments in the area, and industry numbers back up the buzz. MIAMI REALTORS® reports Brickell’s vacancy rate near 3.7 percent, a tight market that signals strong demand for prime space.
What It Means For Local Jobs
Expansions by consultancies like McKinsey typically bring higher paid professional roles and more work for local law firms, recruiters and business services providers. The McKinsey & Company careers page for Miami shows open positions in both client-facing and support functions, suggesting more local hiring as the firm settles into its new digs.
For Miami developers and brokers, having another global firm take Brickell space is validation that downtown leasing can support high-end tenants and higher rents. The South Florida Business Journal first reported the relocation on May 21, 2026.
