Memphis police say they have hauled in the third and final suspect tied to a pair of pharmacy delivery truck robberies that rattled the city in late 2024. Warren McGowan, 29, was taken into custody Saturday in Memphis, and investigators say the thefts ultimately netted more than $100,000 in prescription medication. The arrests cap an investigation that stretched across two brazen daytime ambushes of delivery crews, though police say the probe itself is still active as they sift through affidavits and recovered evidence.
McGowan was booked on aggravated robbery and carjacking charges and is being held on a $250,000 bond, according to WREG. The station reports the arrest was logged in Shelby County jail and court records after authorities executed a warrant tied to the long-running probe. As of Sunday, those records did not yet list a court date for the robbery and carjacking counts.
Two thieves targeted pharmacy deliveries
Security camera footage from the first incident shows a suspect grabbing a cart loaded with seven medication totes from a delivery driver outside a Walgreens on the 4600 block of Summer Avenue on Nov. 29, 2024. Investigators say a second theft unfolded on Dec. 24, 2024, when a delivery driver was carjacked outside a Midtown CVS at Union and Cooper and a van full of pharmaceuticals was stolen. Police later traced some of that medicine to a home on Nellie Road. Those earlier on-scene details were reported in local coverage, including a report headlined Delivery Driver Carjacked Over $100,000 In Meds.
Investigators tracked stolen goods to a home
Police say tips led officers to a residence on Nellie Road, where they recovered multiple medication totes and arrested 27-year-old Javorian Miller on Dec. 24, 2024. Miller was charged in connection with at least one of the robberies, and contemporaneous news accounts documented both the recovery and the December arrest, including coverage republished by Yahoo.
Affidavits, identifications, and court status
Court affidavits obtained by reporters state that Miller later identified McGowan and Fredrick Pirtle as the armed gunmen and admitted he drove the getaway vehicle "to make money," according to WREG. The station also reports that McGowan faces separate court filings tied to a workplace-theft allegation, for which records indicate he posted a $40,000 bond in May 2025. Prosecutors say additional hearings and filings are possible as the robbery cases move forward, while investigators and local prosecutors have declined to comment further pending more court action.
Memphis police are asking anyone with information about the robberies to contact the Memphis Police Department or Crime Stoppers. The cases will move through Shelby County courts as investigators finish reviewing evidence and affidavit testimony.
