
A neighborhood dispute on a Romulus cul-de-sac turned deadly late Saturday night, when gunfire on the 15000 block of Mesa Way left a 51-year-old Detroit man dead and a 47-year-old Romulus woman in the hospital, according to police.
According to FOX 2 Detroit, officers were called to the scene shortly after 11 p.m. and arrived at about 11:05 p.m. They found the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and began CPR, but he was not breathing. The woman was treated at the scene, then rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was listed in serious but stable condition.
Police told the outlet that a 29-year-old Detroit man, identified as the woman’s boyfriend, was taken into custody at the scene. Officers also recovered weapons as part of the initial response, and investigators are still working to piece together exactly how the shooting unfolded.

"The man succumbed to his wounds shortly after they arrived," reports FOX 2 Detroit. The station’s early reporting indicates the victim had been visiting his sister and her boyfriend on Mesa Way when an argument escalated, and guns came out.
