Mesquite Entertainment is kicking off a hiring blitz this week, trying to bring on more than 100 new employees in a single day as the company ramps up staffing for fresh dining options at its Mesquite casinos. The push covers just about every corner of casino operations, from the front desk to the kitchen to security.
Job Fair Details
The one-day event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Virgin River Event Center, 100 E Pioneer Blvd, and will feature on-the-spot interviews for more than 100 openings across the company’s Mesquite properties. According to FOX5 Las Vegas, the roles include front-of-house and back-of-house positions, management, security, maintenance, housekeeping, retail and guest services, along with hires for Burger King, 88 Seats, Jersey Joe’s Diner, Pei Wei and other new outlets.
How To Apply
Organizers are urging applicants to get a head start by applying online through the Mesquite Entertainment careers page, then show up with an updated resume for a shot at same-day interviews. The company notes that eligible employees receive competitive pay, training, paid time off and access to a 401(k) plan.
Local Job Market
The timing is no accident. Nevada’s unemployment rate hovers around 5.3%, compared with roughly 4.3% nationally, so there is still a sizable pool of job-seekers. As News 3 Las Vegas reports, organizers expect the fair to help fill both seasonal and permanent positions as Mesquite’s dining scene continues to grow.
What To Expect
Job-seekers should come prepared like it is a same-day audition: bring multiple copies of your resume, dress for an interview and keep your schedule flexible. Hiring managers plan to conduct on-the-spot interviews and can move quickly to extend offers. FOX5 Las Vegas also notes that the company offers free meals during shifts and other perks as part of its bid to attract workers.
Why It Matters
For Mesquite, a town that leans heavily on tourism and gaming, filling these jobs is central to keeping restaurants, hotels and casinos running smoothly as visitor numbers climb. Mesquite Entertainment lists Virgin River and CasaBlanca among its properties, and this hiring surge signals the company is gearing up its workforce for a busier season ahead.
