A routine Saturday bus ride turned into a crime scene in Wilkinsburg when a man was stabbed during an altercation aboard a Pittsburgh Regional Transit P68 Braddock Hills Flyer, leaving him in critical condition and triggering a heavy emergency response at the Wilkinsburg Park and Ride.
Officials said the incident unfolded in the early afternoon and that the victim was rushed to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for treatment.
PRT officials told Pittsburgh's Action News 4 they were notified of the stabbing around 1 p.m., and Allegheny County dispatchers said EMS and police were sent to the Wilkinsburg Park and Ride, according to WTAE. The station reported that an ambulance and at least four police cruisers surrounded the P68 bus at the scene. Port Authority Police are investigating, and officials said another person involved left the scene before officers arrived.
