Major League Soccer has unveiled its new global headquarters at 2 Penn Plaza in Midtown Manhattan, just as the United States prepares to co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The office is billed as the league's central match-day operations hub and a showcase space for partners, media and events.
The league has moved into roughly 126,000 square feet across two floors, nearly double the footprint it held at 420 Fifth Avenue, consolidating staff, studios and event space under one roof, as reported by Commercial Observer. The new layout reportedly includes more than 80 meeting rooms, multiple wellness areas, podcast studios, indoor and outdoor terraces and a flexible town-hall amenity for 280 people.
Office Designed Like a Stadium
The buildout leans into stadium imagery, with LED ribbons, mesh walls that mimic nets and curved archways meant to evoke the feel of a venue on match day. MLS EVP Camilo Durana called the move a "game changer" and said the space helps present the league to sponsors and media, according to SportsBusiness Journal. Designers also added dedicated production and operations rooms to centralize match-day viewing and real-time data feeds.
Why Penn 2?
MLS's choice of Penn 2 gives the league one-seat transit access at Penn Station and a modern amenity package, perks that figure heavily in Vornado's pitch for the building. The redevelopment includes large rooftop terraces, green space and a suspended town-hall, features the landlord highlighted in its press materials. Vornado's press release outlines the property's overhaul and notes a 17,000-square-foot shared roof terrace and other tenant amenities, per Vornado.

The headquarters arrives as MLS reorganizes for scale, shifting calendars, launching new commercial ventures and reshuffling leadership, steps the league describes as part of a next phase of growth. MLS's own announcement about leadership changes notes that the league moved its headquarters into Penn 2 in early April as part of the office project, according to MLS Communications.
