Thursday starts on a crisp note in Nashville, with clear skies, temperatures in the low 50s and sunshine filling in as the day goes on. By afternoon, it turns into classic spring perfection, with a high near 74°F and a light north breeze around 5 to 10 mph, ideal for patios, walks and knocking out errands.
Weekend Heat Outlook
The cooldown does not last. Temperatures bounce back quickly, with highs in the low 80s on Friday, then pushing into the upper 80s and near 90 on both Saturday and Sunday as southerly winds return. The National Weather Service puts the odds at about 70% that Nashville hits 90°F on Sunday, and early next week is expected to run even hotter.
Saturday Storms And Wind
Saturday brings the highest chance for a few showers or brief thunderstorms, mainly from the morning into early afternoon, although most locations should stay dry. South winds will increase to 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph, enough to jostle loose patio umbrellas and backyard setups.
Midweek Rain Chance
More widespread and meaningful rain is expected to hold off until midweek, when a large trough approaches and showers and thunderstorms become likely on Wednesday. Forecasters highlight the higher rain chances in the latest National Weather Service forecast discussion.
Heat Safety
With several days late this weekend and into next week likely to nudge or top 90°F, basic heat safety still matters. Drink plenty of water, avoid heavy outdoor activity during the hottest part of the afternoon and keep an eye on neighbors who may be more vulnerable. Cooling resources and guidance for hot stretches are available from the Metro Nashville Office of Emergency Management.
