Schertz police are looking for answers after a man was found dead inside an abandoned car sitting in an open field Tuesday afternoon. Officers were called out around 1:40 p.m. and tracked the vehicle to the area near the 500 block of Linda Lee Lane. The man has not yet been identified, and investigators are still working to determine how he died.

According to officers, the man was discovered inside the vehicle after they responded to the call. Investigators believe he was between 70 and 75 years old, according to News 4 San Antonio. Police are asking anyone who might know something about what happened to contact the department at 210-619-1200 so detectives can follow up on potential leads.
