A deadly shooting outside a west Houston business has left police searching for answers after a person was found fatally wounded in a parking lot off Richmond Avenue on Wednesday morning.
Houston officers were called to a strip center in the 9300 block of Richmond Avenue, near Ocee Street, where they found a victim in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Homicide detectives with the Houston Police Department are leading the investigation, and so far, officials have not released the victim’s name or any description of a possible suspect.
Detectives are still working to piece together what happened before the gunfire. As they canvass the area and review potential evidence, authorities say the circumstances that led up to the shooting remain unclear.
What Police Are Saying So Far
According to FOX 26 Houston, HPD officers arrived to find the victim already deceased in the parking lot. Investigators have officially classified the case as a homicide. The station reports that police have not yet identified a suspect and that officials still do not know what sparked the violence.
